Get Up Get Out of Here Gone Season 45 Post-Season Awards

Yount Most Valuable Player:

AVG: .318 OBP: .411 SLG: .688 OPS: 1.099

There is a very vocal contingent of Cleveland fans that threatened bodily harm if Lee was not named the Yount Most Valuable Player. They are rumored to be on the payroll of boy-wonder owner Tate. Lee is on pace to be one of the Yount all-time greats, as he just turned 24 and continues to put up better numbers. Provided that Lee and Maya get locked up if the owner does not miss the small window prior to arbitration to sign them to a long-term contract, this could be a regular occurrence for Ruben.

Yount Cy Young:

Games: 39 Games Started: 39 W-L: 21-9 Inn: 301.0

BB: 71 SO: 302 WHIP: 1.08 ERA: 2.54

Wash, rinse, repeat. Kline, who won the Yount Cy Young award last year, was even better this year. Although Kline started one more game, he was down in complete games, only going the distance 12 times this season. Kline is still locked up through season 47 and shows no sign of slowing down. There has been only one 300 game winner in Yount, Troy Eischen, with 315 and Kline is at 148.

Yount Rookie of the Year:

Games: 50 Games Started: 32 W-L: 26-6 Inn: 256.2

BB: 82 SO: 202 WHIP: 1.08 ERA: 2.49

Yikes, Pickford almost won the triple-crown of MVP, Cy Young and Rookie of the Year. He was just that dominant. Amazingly, Pickford slipped to the 31st pick in the Season 42 draft and has dominated at every level. The Tigers have become a machine and Pickford could be the engine that continues their stranglehold on the National League. Mr. Kline, look out. Pickford is the great-grandson of Virginia Governor, William Hodges Mann who closed 800 rural saloons.

Yount Fireman of the Year:

Games: 54 Saves: 43 W-L: 1-3 Inn: 65.2

BB: 17 SO: 42 WHIP: 1.05 ERA: 2.19

Hey Jimmie, over here, we are taking a picture. It was great to see Lipkin mature, as he is better known for his clubhouse pranks, including the disastrous fire in the bullpen in season 39 as a rookie, when a hot foot on teammate Didi Sierra left Sierra so surprised he stumbled into a pile of Gatorade towels, setting them on fire and torching the bullpen in Miami. Lipkin was involved in 43 of the 73 wins by the Marlins and is locked up through season 47. He remains one of the best closers in the game and with 139 saves, ranks fifth all-time in Marlins history.
