Baton Rouge, LA (GUGUGOOHG) - It's challenging to evaluate a draft class immediately after a draft, as everyone typically thinks the draft is not so great. However, at Get Up Get Up Get Outta Here Gone, we've developed a formula to assess successful draft classes by looking back at previous classes. The formula awards points based on the number of players still playing, with higher points for major leaguers and a bonus for the round in which the player was drafted.
The draft class from Season 49 was not very successful, with an average score of 27.24. In contrast, the Mariners had the best draft in Season 48, with four players reaching the majors, which ranks as the fifth-best draft. Since we started this practice in Season 44, we will be compiling the top ten drafts of all time based on the score as we move forward. Here are the Season 49 rankings:
