This formula assigns points based on how many players remain active in the sport, awarding more points to those who made it to the major leagues, with extra bonuses depending on the round in which each player was drafted.

Season 57 produced a strong, deep class, averaging 32.33—the fifth-best mark across 14 tracked seasons. The Pirates led the league with a 59.31 index and finished just 0.41 points shy of the all-time top ten, powered by draft-day steal Ken Luebke, whose 11.48 score came from the 720th overall pick. The Colonels placed seven players in the majors, the most in the class, while the Yankees and Mariners each still have 16 active selections spread throughout the system. Although no Season 57 club cracked the all-time top ten, the depth of the class places it among the stronger groups the blog has tracked.
