As the new year begins, a fresh list of top prospects emerges, with talent more evenly distributed than in previous years. The Boston Red Sox are notably building something exceptional, boasting the top three prospects in the game: the highly regarded Wily Cespedes, Chuck Tracy, and the injured Davey Castillo. The Red Sox have nine prospects in the top 100, second only to the Rangers, who have ten. Three teams—the Nationals, Cubs, and Colonels—each have six prospects on the list. This year, four teams, namely the Reds, Orioles, Rockies, and Marlins, have no players in the Top 100, a decrease from last year's total of five.
