Season 61 All-Stars

Members of the Yount League often debate the legitimacy of all-star recognition, despite the presence of an official all-star game at the major league level. The Angels led with seven selections, followed by the Twins with six, and several other teams with five each. This year, nine teams had no players selected, up from eight, since there are no mandatory selections.

MAJOR LEAGUE ALL-STARS

In the minor leagues, all levels except Rookie have an all-star game. Although the Rookie level is recognized, it doesn't compete in an actual game. The consistently strong Braves system topped the list with twenty-five selections. This could be the most balanced distribution of selections ever, as fifteen teams had ten or more players chosen. For the second year in a row, every team had at least one all-star at the minor league level.
