This was a very tough call, as Bethancourt had a career, but it is hard to deny the greatness of first ballot Hall of Famer Ruben Lee, who put up 50 home runs at age 31. Already a member of the 500 home run club, Lee has an opportunity to own the record book if he stays healthy and plays another 5-6 years.

According to some in the league, wins are a team stat and that is the deciding factor in naming Pena the Cy Young of the league, despite the usual suspects of Pickford and Owen having their normal solid years. Pena is the current career leader in WHIP and ERA and at age 28, doesn't show any signs of slowing down. The question becomes whether he accumulates enough wins to be considered one of the greats. Regardless, Pena is on pace to also be a first ballot Hall of Famer.

The seventh overall pick in the season 48 draft by Tampa Bay, Phillips was dealt for Vance Dellaro in Season 50. Dellaro was later dealt to the Orioles for Roenis Tavarez, Abraham Gordon and Noel Feliz. Gordon was later traded with Jeff Castillo for Jaime Mastroianni, while Feliz was dealt for Lisalverto Oliva. So essentially, Tampa netted Roenis Tavarez, Jaime Mastroianni, and Lisalverto Oliva (later released) for Andrea Phillips and Jeff Castillo. Phillips has a very bright future, although doesn't have the stamina to go deep in a game, but has some of the best stuff in the bigs. It is the second straight year that the Reds had the ROY.

Doc Hudson might have the best closer music in baseball, as he's not what you'd call a glamorous man, as when Dr. Feelgood is blaring through the speakers at Chavez Ravine it means he's gonna be your Frankenstein. Doc has had eight straight seasons of 40 plus saves and much like some of the other award winners, is sure on a path to the Hall of Fame.
