Get Up Get Up Get Outta Here Gone Season 54 Post-Season Awards

Yount Most Valuable Player:

Runs: 128 Hits: 198 HR: 55 RBI: 143 SB: 10

AVG: .292 OBP: .365 SLG: .581 OPS: .946

In one of the closest MVP races of all time, Iwazaki received the award over Nigel Mullin, who was the best hitter on the best team. Iwazaki, a first-ballot Hall of Famer, continues to produce at a high level in the formidable Yankees lineup. He is in the last year of his contract in what will be one of the most significant free-agent classes ever. Iwazaki is a constant presence in the Yount, known for his remarkable consistency. Throughout his impressive career spanning 14 major league seasons, he has achieved the milestone of hitting 40 or more home runs in 13 of those seasons. Additionally, he has consistently recorded at least 100 runs and 100 RBIs in each of his major league campaigns. Even in his rookie year, his lowest OPS stood at .891. Notably, he has shown exceptional durability by playing in all 162 games for nine consecutive seasons, earning him the nickname "Yount Ironman." It is evident that if he maintains this level of performance, he could easily be considered the greatest of all time due to his unwavering consistency and ability to be in the lineup every day.

Yount Cy Young:

Games: 44 Games Started: 44 W-L: 22-3 Inn: 265.1

BB: 63 SO: 188 WHIP: 0.99 ERA: 2.07

The Cy Young race in Yount is always tough. With Pickford, Owen, and Pena performing well, there are plenty of choices. Pickford pitched an impressive 290 innings this year, but Hidalgo, who started 44 games and put up impressive numbers, gets the nod. Owen continues to be shut out of this award because, although dominant, he doesn't go as deep into games. Hidalgo had his best year so far, and the Marlins decided to go to arbitration, as Hidalgo only makes a paltry $1.785 in season 55. A mainstay of the pitching-heavy Marlins, how his contract is handled will determine the team's future.

Yount Rookie of the Year:

Runs: 99 Hits: 166 HR: 43 RBI: 112 SB: 27

AVG: .283 OBP: .360 SLG: .558 OPS: .918

Rollins, an absolute superstar and a favorite of the Yount blog, did not disappoint in his rookie campaign. He edged out Robert Hayes for the overall Rookie of the Year. Rollins was the first pick out of LSU in Season 52 and spent two years in the minors where he terrorized pitching. Rollins is a gamer and has played in every game of his Yount career so far. If he is putting up these numbers as a rookie, what does the rest of his career look like? With other young hitters around him, Arizona quickly has one of the best offenses in Yount. If they can acquire some pitching, watch out.

Yount Fireman of the Year:

Games: 54 Saves: 36 W-L: 5-4 Inn: 56.2

BB: 13 SO: 61 WHIP: 0.79 ERA: 1.91

Aceves has been relatively consistent as a closer despite the lack of big save numbers. He put up arguably his best season in the bigs for Tampa. Tampa has long been known for making trades, making Aceves a rare home-grown talent as a first-round pick (#19 overall) out of high school in season 44. With one more year on a team-friendly deal that pays just $4.725 per year, it will be interesting to see if Tampa can retain Aceves.
