Season 63 All-Stars

Members of the Yount League often debate the legitimacy of all-star recognition, even with an official all-star game at the major league level. The Brewers led the way again with eight all-stars, but there seemed to be more consolidation than usual, which makes sense given the number of teams below .500. This year, we had eight teams with no selections, since it is not mandatory, up from six last year. At the bottom, we have an all-time list with two aging legends climbing up: Julian Pena and Nigel Mullin.

In the minor leagues, every level except Rookie has an All-Star Game. Although the Rookie level is recognized, it doesn't compete in an actual game. The consistently strong Braves again led the list with 23 selections, the same number they had last year. For the first time in three years we had a team(s) get shut out in the minors, the Cubs and Marlins. Things are bleak in Miami, as the lack of talent throughout resulted in no selections in the majors or minors.
