The trade that sent pitcher Julian Pena and Jaime Mastroianni within the division for Maduro, Parker Myette, and Shawn Hughes had a significant impact on the league. Hughes would later be involved in a three-player trade for Sterling Miller. Historically, Tampa has been a challenging place for hitters, but Maduro thrived there, delivering another outstanding season and solidifying his status among the top hitters in the game.

Maduro's journey to the majors was gradual; he was part of the Nationals' rebuild after being drafted in Season 44 as the 6th overall pick from Livonia High School in Livonia, New York. However, he did not make his major league debut until Season 50. He was traded to Louisville halfway through Season 52.

Yount Cy Young:

Games: 61 Games Started: 32 W-L: 22-10 Inn: 299.1

BB: 85 SO: 264 WHIP: 1.11 ERA: 2.56

Death, taxes, and Dayton Pickford. Pickford had another outstanding year during his free agency season, appearing in 61 games. At 33 years old, he has established the most unique role in Yount history. As he enters season 56, Pickford continues to climb the career charts and has a realistic chance of breaking the all-time win record of 315 set by Troy Eischen, currently sitting at 252 wins and ranking 16th overall. In the off-season, Pickford decided to test the market and ultimately signed a near-max contract worth $20 million in salary over five seasons, along with a $4 million signing bonus. Given that Pickford contributes by pitching in more than a third of the team's games each year, he might very well be worth every penny.

Yount Rookie of the Year:

Runs: 104 Hits: 160 HR: 48 RBI: 97 SB: 0

AVG: .313 OBP: .407 SLG: .631 OPS: 1.038

Ortiz, a long-time favorite of the GUGUGOHG Blog, did not disappoint in his rookie campaign, hitting 48 home runs in just 136 games. He was an absolute steal at $8 million as an international free agent in Season 51. However, Ortiz has struggled with fatigue, as he has not played a full season during his time in the minors or in his first year in the major leagues. Additionally, he was caught stealing 13 times last season, indicating he may be missing signs or completely ignoring them.

Yount Fireman of the Year:

Games: 58 Saves: 40 W-L: 7-1 Inn: 60.1

BB: 15 SO: 58 WHIP: 0.90 ERA: 1.34

Aceves repeats at the Fireman of the Year, cracking 40 saves for just the second time in his career. He also matched his career high with seven wins. Aceves only allowed nine earned runs and as a key for a reliever, just two home runs, leading to a 1.34 ERA. Aceves recently resigned in-season, locked up for the next five years at $5.4M per year.
