The top player on the best team secured the vote, even though Justin Milliard arguably had a superior statistical year and led the Diamondbacks to the playoffs. Mullin has quietly built a Hall of Fame-worthy career within the Milwaukee organization, earning two MVP awards, five all-star selections, and four Silver Slugger awards. Selected fourth overall in the Season 46 draft, Mullin joined Milwaukee in Season 48 through a trade that sent Gustavo Castillo, Shaggy Branyon, and Murray Alexander to the Dodgers. Mullin certainly possesses the ability to play other positions but is a defensive stalwart at first base. Recently, Mullin was signed out of arbitration to a contract extending through season 60. Given Milwaukee's tendency to trade higher-priced talent for top prospects, how long will Mullin remain in Suds City?

Yount Cy Young

BB: 63 SO: 160 WHIP: 0.87 ERA: 2.05

While the selection of Jerome Maya as the Cy Young may not bring much celebration to Detroit, his performance this past season was truly exceptional. Maya consistently prevented runners from reaching base, boasting a 0.87 WHIP. Despite some league members' belief that wins are a team statistic, his remarkable 20-2 record was a testament to his impact; any team with Maya on the mound had a strong chance of victory. Originally the third overall pick in the Season 49 draft by the Marlins, Maya was traded to Milwaukee for Stephen Peavy in Season 51. This trade proved beneficial for both teams, as Peavy led the Marlins to the World Series that year and delivered impressive performances. Maya, not yet eligible for arbitration, has become an integral part of Milwaukee's success.

Yount Rookie of the Year

Runs: 96 Hits: 183 HR: 29 RBI: 111 SB: 19

AVG: .285 OBP: .341 SLG: .488 OPS: .829

Phillips delivered a commendable rookie season, participating in all 162 games and posting respectable statistics. As the first overall pick in the Season 54 draft from Delta Junior College, Phillips rapidly advanced to the major leagues. Debuting at the age of 22, this home-grown talent still has potential for development, especially in his defensive skills, where he has the potential to become a Gold Glove-caliber third baseman if he reaches his peak performance metrics.

Yount Fireman of the Year

Games: 69 Saves: 37 W-L: 7-15 Inn: 102.0

BB: 30 SO: 88 WHIP: 1.07 ERA: 3.00

The GUGUGOHG Blog values classic relievers such as Rollie Fingers and Goose Gossage. In this vein, Siegrist stands out as the preferred choice, having been a formidable workhorse with 102 innings pitched and 37 saves. Selected as the tenth overall pick in the Season 51 draft by the New York Mets, he became part of a five-player trade in Season 54. Cincinnati effectively utilized his skills during his rookie year in this distinctive role, and it will be intriguing to observe how his career progresses as Cincinnati has discovered a remarkable talent.
